Research Presentation by Yixin Zhang at ACM Multimedia Asia 2024
Yixin Zhang of our research group gave presentation at ACM Multimedia Asia 2024. This presentation focused on ingredient recognition from images in recipe data that describe cooking procedures. Recipe data consists of a sequence of descriptions for each cooking step. As a result, the image for each step often contains ingredients that also appeared in previous steps. First In-Person Conference Presentation in Three Years: Zhang Yixin Presented at CEA++
Yixin Zhang presented her research at the International Workshop on Multimedia for Cooking, Eating, and Related Applications 2022 (CEA++2022). This workshop was held as part of ACM Multimedia Conference, one of the most prestigious international conferences in multimedia technology. Yixin Zhang gave presentation at ACM Multimedia Asia
Yuexin Zhang presented her research findings at ACM Multimedia Asia, one of the international conferences on multimedia organized by ACM. 張訳心さんがマルチメディア技術と食情報に関するワークショップ MADiMa で研究成果を発表
張訳心さんがマルチメディア技術と食情報に関するワークショップ International Workshop on Multimedia Assisted Dietary Management で研究成果を発表しました．食情報に特化した小規模のワークショップで，研究内容がごく近い人たちで議論ができるというのが利点です．また，口頭発表とポスター発表の両方をする機会がありました． 張さんの論文は，レシピに登場する動詞の類似度を測定する手法に関するものです．様々な国のレシピには多様な動詞が使われ，初心者には馴染みのない動詞も登場します．その際，その動詞が他のどんな動詞と意味が近いかがわかれば，理解の助けになります．このような語と語の類似度を計る手法は盛んに研究されており，各語がどんな文脈に出現するかの情報に基づいてベクトルに変換し，このベクトル同士の類似度を見る手法が一般的です．しかし，レシピ記述では手順説明に画像が付いていることが多いため，この画像の情報を用いて一緒に出てくる動詞をベクトル化しようというのが，張さんの研究です． 今回の開催地はフランスのNiceです．Niceといえば，この風景．町外れの丘の上からの写真です．コート・ダジュールという言葉は，Niceを含む広い範囲を指す言葉だそうですが，コート・ダジュールというと，よくこの丘からの写真が出てきます． この写真にあるようにNiceは海岸の町なので，海産物が多く売られています．風景も美しく，良いレストランもたくさんあります．なお，ニースはイタリア文化圏だった期間が長いらしく，食事はイタリア風です． なお，一つ前の記事で，ThessalonikiのnikiはNikeというブランド名の語源である勝利の女神Nikeのことらしいということを書きましたが，このNiceという名前もwikipediaによると，古くはNikaiaであり，Nikeの町という意味だそうです．
